This thicknesser with a thickness planing width of 630 mm has been optimised for high performance and therefore it is a powerhouse in performance and precision. Innovative controls, large and heavy precision components show first class workmanship through maximum precision and durability. The Felder D 963 comprises approved Felder components such as the massive thicknesser table, the precise setting accuracy and the four trapezoidal spindles. These components have been extended with new, innovative developments, such as the Silent-Power® spiral cutterblock which provides an excellent thickness planing result. Cutterblock

The solid cast iron cutterblock housing is built for heavy duty work. We can also provide rubber outfeed rollers as an option. The pressure beams combined with the rubber or segmented infeed roller serve to machine simultaneously workpieces of differing width.

FELDER cutterblock system

The Felder system cutterblock has guaranteed perfect planing results for decades. Resin free locking screws and the self-setting knives make it possible to change the blade in less than 2 minutes. Time consuming adjustments and purchasing of expensive setting gauges are a thing of the past.

Sectional pressure bar (Optional)

A recommended option when planing with a small depth of cut, with very thin workpieces or workpieces with varying thicknesses.

Continuous speeds

Regardless of the type of wood and grain, the variable feed speed of between 4-16m/min always guarantees a perfect thicknessing result.

Under table rollers (Optional)

Optional integrated adjustable rollers are available for processing workpieces with high resin or moisture content.

Power-Drive

The fully electrical “Power-Drive” thicknesser table control offers the most precise adjustment and repeat accuracy. With a twist of the knob, you can quickly adjust the thicknessing height, then fine-adjust using the button. An integrated LED-display displays the actual value.

Digi-Drive (Optional)

Enter the required dimension, press Start and the thicknesser table will move precisely to the required position. Set and actual values are displayed on LED displays. Additional optional functions, such as incremental position and four programmable thicknesser table positions are available.

Perfect planing technology

2 spring-loaded pressure bars prevent “fluttering” of very thin workpieces whilst thicknessing.

Height-adjustable scissor table (Optional)

An optional 1150 mm adjustable height scissor table is available.

Table ectensions (Optional)

When thicknessing several workpieces at once, the 570 mm long table extension with workpiece roller situated on the outfeed is of particular importance, making it easier to remove them once thicknessed.

Application of lubricant

Apply the lubricant via the wick from the tank onto the underside of the workpiece.
